Intermediate/advanced contemporary technique class

Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-4 pm at Links Hall
Beginning Tuesday September 4th
$10/class

Taught by Khecari Artistic Director Jonathan Meyer, this class integrates elements of modern, ballet,
release, and capoeira, and facilitates the ability to shift fluidly between the control and regulation
of more traditional techniques and the release and modulation of more post-modern forms.
There is a focus on sequential movement, clarity of initiation, floor work, improv and strength-building.

Jonathan Meyer has studied at Oberlin College, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and with Maestre Medicina in Brazil. He has danced with The High Risk Group, Pierre-Paul Savoir, and The Seldoms, and has been Artistic Director of Khecari Dance Theatre since 2002. His class is informed by studies in Cunningham, Nikolais, contact improvisation, butoh, Body-Mind Centering, and other movement forms.
