Amanda Maraist is a movement deviser, improviser + performer from the Texas Gulf Coast. She performs in Chicago with Khecari, and also acts as an operations assistant for the company. She also performs in various other collaborative processes with local musicians and collaborators. Her personal work aims to incite coincidences + accidents, nostalgia, irreverence, and a sense of place through authentic movement. She is currently in research with Kara Brody (dancer) and Chrissy Martin (musician) on a long-form improvised work surrounding what it looks and feels like to be at home with another body, titled Burrow, tousle.
