MAX POPE

 

BIO

Max Pope (he/him), from Nebraska, is a Chicago-based dancer, choreographer, educator, and now puppeteer. Both in the work he creates and participates in, Max continues to be drawn to projects with an unexpected and surprising nature. As a dancer Max has performed in works by choreographers such as Bill T. Jones, Morgan Thorson, Stephan Koplowitz, Brendan Fernandes, Lauren Simpson, and Herb  Johnson III. As one of the organizers for the Chicago Contact Improv Jam, Max helps to foster an open and accessible space for somatic sensation and exploration. Max graduated with a BA in Dance and Psychology from Carleton College where he was awarded honors for his senior dance thesis. This is his first performance with Khecari.
